Ayodeji Okewumi

Ayodeji is a seasoned development professional with over 20 years of experience in project management, fundraising, grant writing, communications, and stakeholder management. He has a deep passion for education and is driven to create a positive impact in the world. In his previous roles, Ayodeji served as the Policy and Partnerships Director for Bridge (now New Globe) in Nigeria. There, he led strategic relationships and made significant contributions to a technology-enabled education transformation program aimed at enhancing the quality of learning, living, and livelihood for children and communities in thousands of underserved areas throughout Nigeria. Ayodeji also gained experience at Glasgow Caledonian University, at the Student Wellbeing Directorate and working in both student services and academics at Glasgow International College. He started his non-profit journey at VolunteerCorps in Lagos, where he held several leadership positions, demonstrating his versatility and unwavering commitment to education for marginalized communities.
Throughout his career, Ayodeji has successfully managed milestone projects, cultivated strategic partnerships with prominent organizations, and showcased strong skills in international development. He has also devoted his time as a volunteer with organizations such as the ACTS Foundation and ENACTUS, further exemplifying his dedication to education and social impact.
Ayodeji’s educational background is extensive, including an MBA in Strategy from the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow, an MSc in Development Studies from the School of Social Sciences, University of Glasgow, a Pg Dip in Business, Law, and Social Sciences from Glasgow International College, and finally an MEd in Architecture from the University of Lagos. With his wealth of experience, solid academic foundation, broad perspectives, and a cheerful disposition, Ayodeji is well-equipped to foster committed champions and provide strategic support for the work we do at Kizazi.
